Using the sauna
-
Saunas help promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and support recovery after exercise. Many people also find regular sauna sessions helpful for stress reduction and overall wellbeing.
-
For adult sessions we aim to keep the temperature at between 80°C and 90°C.
At these temperatures, the body responds by sweating, increasing heart rate, and widening blood vessels to regulate heat.
-
Many people enjoy sauna sessions 2–4 times per week, though frequency varies depending on experience and comfort level.
Research from the University of Eastern Finland followed over 2,300 adults for more than 20 years and found that people who used a sauna at least 2–3 times per week had significantly lower risks of cardiovascular disease and mortality compared with those who used it once per week. You can read more about it here
-
At the sauna we have a changing room and lockers available to store personal items.

Once you’re in the sauna you may wish to start on the lower bench. Heat rises and when it’s as hot as 90 °C at the top of the sauna, it can be as low as 30 °C on the floor.
Sit in the heat and enjoy the warmth. There is no timer in the sauna, so listen to your body and when you feel uncomfortable leave the sauna, cool down and rehydrate. You’re welcome to take breaks whenever you like — the key is to relax, listen to your body, and enjoy the experience.
-
Every body is different.
We encourage guests to listen to their body. Leave the sauna when you feel ready and make sure you cool down fully before re-entering.
